Patient Participation Group
The practice is a member of the National Association for Patient Participation.
At the Parks Medical Practice we have a Patient Participation Group meeting every three to six months. These meetings provide patients with the opportunity to bring any issues or enquiries forward to the practice. There will be a chance to speak to members of staff and doctors, who can try to resolve problems within the practice or other health facilities available. These meetings also provide an opportunity for the practice to inform patients of new services offered within and outside of the practice.
The patient participation group is also involved with the practice fund raising scheme. Monies raised go to local charities, while some goes toward buying medical equipment for the surgery. We have seasonal raffles and a continuous book sales, (books located in reception area).
We have already raised substantial amount of monies, and helped so many charities. We have also been able to purchase a blood pressure machines for the practice which will enable us to provide the best care for our patients. We are currently trying to raise fund for an ECG Machine.
We aim to gather around a hundred patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.
